Mt. Hood Training Camp was a blast!

The U14s (and a few U12s) at Mt. Hood had “some great skiing and very happy campers” says coach John Trimmer!

Mathieu Leduc, the 27 year-old MWSC alumni, had an amazing race and came in 4th (his personal best!) at the second-last race of the Cross Alps Tour and Canada Ski Cross! He will be back on Mt Washington to ski with our kids just after Christmas! Click here to read more:

Paul Francisty has been part of the Mt Washington Ski Club for 25 years. Paul and his wife Lorraine began their journey with the club when they signed their children Krystal, Matt and Kelsi up for the Nancy Greene Ski League…. The kids excelled and Paul jumped in with two feet, often dragging Lorraine’s feet in too. Paul’s biggest role in the club was probably that of registrar. He held this role forever, finally passing along his duties last season. But Paul was much more than registrar, he helped guide the club through both tough times and good times! He worked hundreds of races, became a TD (Technical Delegate) and has taken his love of the sport on the road volunteering at countless races from local zone races to World Championships and Olympic and ParaOlympic games! He is an ambassador of the sport and of Mt Washington Ski Club, a Marmot thru and thru and we can’t thank him enough for all he has done and continues to do! Congratulations Paul!

It is going to be a great season by the energy shown at the AGM this past weekend. Lots of new families stepping up to executive roles and many wonderful ideas for the season ahead. Your new club president is Jason Henneberry and your new executive and board are posted on our Contact Us page….so check it out!
Special thanks of course to our outgoing president Slobodan Djurickovic.

We have started to update the calendar so be sure to check it out. Especially note the Apex training camp for U12 and up as it is early in the season in December. This is a fantastic camp with a wonderful training set up that head coach John Trimmer recommends strongly! Contact JT for details.

The big question for the meeting was WHEN IS REGISTRATION? Last year we were up and running by mid October and it will likely be the same this year. We will, once again have Early Bird rates so please be sure to register early so you aren’t disappointed. And don’t worry, we will send out a notice when registration is live AND post on facebook too. You won’t miss it, I promise! Please note that this year registration will be fully on line, including payment.

Thanks to coach Krystal, and our senior athletes Kieran, Chris and Emily for taking the kids out hiking and biking while the adults got all the business completed.
